New ‘Best of’ List Didn’t Include Montana. We Brought the Receipts
Can it really be a "Best of" if Montana isn't mentioned somewhere?
The Situation: Our friends at The FW are certainly arbiters of pop culture. Heck, we didn't know we aren't supposed to crush aluminum cans before recycling, or that there's a proper way to sit in an Adirondack chair, so we hold them in high esteem for giving us the news we didn't know we needed.
But they just published a list of "The Best Lake Towns to Call Home" and here, we have to object.
Montana isn't on the list.
The Claim: The list is a mashup of info from Stacker and WalletHub that looked at lake towns, but here's the kicker...the towns had to have a population of at least 10,000 people.
Disqualified: So technically, according to their parameters, Montana's best lake town doesn't count because, well, it doesn't have enough people. But we hardly think that should stand in the way of its inclusion.
The Receipts: Montana's Best Lake Town has been crowned not once, not twice, but three times one of the best lake towns in the country. It has earned nods from

It's so obvious that Bigfork, Montana is a lake town worthy of accolades, we started coming up with runners-up to spread the love around.
Then again, maybe it's okay that Montana wasn't recognized this time around. That the places we love will fly under the radar just a little longer. We get it. We don't have to win everything. 😉
