WalletHub released its 2026 rankings of the Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans. It's an annual release to find the best football cities from coast to coast.

There were 253 cities ranked based on two categories: The city's pro football rank and its college football rank.

In order to determine the best and worst cities for football fans, WalletHub compared 253 U.S. cities based on 21 relevant metrics - WalletHub

The study put more weight on the pro football metric with 75 points, while college football totaled 25 points out of the 100 possible.

Within each category, the study examined factors such as the number of teams in each city, how many championships the teams have, stadium capacities, hall of fame coaches, ticket prices, and more.

Missoula is the 55th Best Football City in America

Obviously, Missoula was tied for last with the pro football metric because there's no pro football team. But Zootown ranked 28th in the college football ranking, which is higher than the likes of Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, and several other major cities.

I don't have any glaring issues with the ranking above. Despite Montana State's recent success, I believe Montana is the best Big Sky Conference football city. Take it with a grain of salt, as always, as I am employed by the University of Montana.
