It's that time of year again. The snow thaws, the bears stir, and the "tourons" arrive in flip-flops to “conquer” Montana.

Meanwhile, hikers in Glacier National Park became a bit too casual on the Highline Trail until a Rocky Mountain sheep decided to show them who truly owns this trail.

A video surfaced on TikTok, showing the bighorn sheep barreling straight down the tight path like late for a bar fight. The hikers freaked out and looked as if they had just seen God’s face.

Here is the thing. A full-grown ram can reach 30 miles per hour and weigh as much as that buddy of yours who was never one to be talked out of burger night. If you find one coming your way, it is smart to calmly get off of the trail and really evaluate the decisions you have made in life.

Luckily, nobody got hurt. Even if falling is the leading cause of death in Glacier, right after “doing something stupid near wildlife.”

A reminder: this is Montana, not Disneyland. The animals are not being paid. They are not your friends. They don’t want a selfie with you. Step off the space, or get rammed by a woolly battering ram. (It just dawned on me that is where they got the word RAM!)

Frankly, I am amazed these people made it back to their rented Jeeps without requiring an airlift. But with the tourist traffic flow getting heavier on the trails each year, it is only a matter of time before we need to reserve times at the trailhead or get crossing guards for billy goats.

Brace yourself, Montana. Summer is upon us, and here comes the tourons.
