High Wind Warning for Missoula
I'll let you fill in our own Dad Fart Joke on that headline.
For real though, yesterday, my family planned on a day trip to either Swan Lake or Philipsburg, today, both places are covered in snow. We ended up taking the Skalkaho Pass to P-burg, if you enjoy nature and literally living on the edge, it's definitely a fun trip to take. (The narrow dirt road has no guard rails, and at times, it's about a 7,000 foot drop.)
Today, Missoula has a high wind warning from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with Northeast winds at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. Most locations will see gust approaching 45 mph, some locations in Missoula and the Bitterroot could see gusts of 50 to 55 mph. Will we still BBQ? Yes. Will we secure the trampoline? For sure. The National Weather Service warns that gusty winds could toss unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down and there could be a few power outages.
We're supposed to get some rain around 3 p.m. as well. As for the rest of the week, it looks like sunshine with a high around 63 on Tuesday, warming up to the 70s Wednesday and Thursday, and back into the 80s on Friday.
