Hamilton ‘Jingles The Bell’ with Cellphone Scavenger Hunt
Your cellphone will help you enter a holiday contest with hundreds of dollars in gift certificates up for prizes. The Hamilton Downtown Association has partnered with News Talk 1240 KLYQ to bring you a cellphone-centered scavenger hunt called "Jingle the Bell."
On your smartphone, find the free KLYQ app in your Apple or Android shop. Open it and on the mid-screen bar, you'll see "Jingle the Bell." Tap it and put in your name, phone number, etc, to enter the contest. You'll be guided to a list and a map, showing you the general location of the 24 businesses that have "invisible" bells that ONLY show up on the phone's screen.
When you walk into a participating business with your active app, the phone will let you know you're close to a bell. Stand still and move the phone around until you see an orange "Capture Now" button. Capture bells at any three locations in the contest and you're automatically entered into the Christmas Eve drawing for over $500 in shopping certificates and prizes from the participating stores, or keep capturing bells to multiply your entries.
We'll do a random drawing from the contestants on December 24th. Good luck!
