The adults love to dress up for Halloween, too! And the Hamilton Players Theater group is making it easy this year.

First of all, costume rentals in just about any size are happening right now at the Hamilton Playhouse, 100 Ricketts Road, just across the river from Hamilton. The costume shop opens its doors Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Executive Director denise rose said that the rentals require a separate deposit that is refunded at the time of the full, clean costume return. The costumes have varying prices, depending on the complexity.

Then, you need a place to wear that costume. The Hamilton Players provide that, too! "The Halloween Spooktacular" dance is set for Saturday, October 21, at Hamilton's City Hall on South 2nd Street from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Josh Farmer Band will provide the music for the ghouls and goblins, witches and werewolves on the great dance floor in the community room. There will be an invisible host wine and beer bar, a costume contest, a Monster-Dance contest and more. You can have your gruesome photo taken by Red Curtain Photo Booth, too.

The tickets are $12 in advance or $15 each at the door. The Hamilton Spooktacular party is co-sponsored by Higherground Brewing Company.

And, just because ghost stories are nice and creepy, the Hamilton Players presents "Grave Readings," a Free evening at the Playhouse October 30, the day before Halloween. The evening will be a "readers theater," with actors and others reading gothic poetry, plays and creepy short stories. Costumes are encouraged by not required. There will be a bake sale that night with great gobblin' goodies for sale.

Grave Readings general seating starts at 6:30 p.m. with performances at 7 p.m.
