What likely started as a beautiful, pristine day ended in tragedy for a Great Falls couple.

Two people were killed Tuesday afternoon at about 4:30 on the Missouri River right in the Great Falls city proper area. Dennis Sire, 66, and Karon Sire, 57, died after their personal watercraft was involved in some sort of collision, just upstream from the 10th Avenue South Bridge.

Both victims were wearing their life jackets and no one else was involved in the accident. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is conducting the accident investigation. A FWP game warden captain has said it does not appear that alcohol was involved. This mishap occurred just hours after a Montana youth drowned in the Clark Fork River in Missoula.

Our hearts certainly go out to the victims and their loved ones.
