This is a pretty cool program that will help older adults in our community during the holidays.  Not everyone has family or even friends to spend time with as we get to this part of the year. You can give a gift with the Giving Trees program as a way to lift spirits and provide items of need. Giving Trees are located in different areas around town and will help bring joy to older adults throughout Missoula.

The following details are from a press release provided by Missoula Aging Services.

The holiday season is one of the most festive times of the year, but imagine an older adult in need living by themselves with few friends or family nearby. The holidays can be an especially rough time for many of your older neighbors. Missoula Aging Services presents an opportunity each year to help an older adult in need through the Giving Trees program. Festive trees will be located throughout the community this holiday season and you can pick a tag that fits your financial capacity to give. You can even make a gift in memory of or in honor of someone you care about! Each tag on a Giving Tree will let you know what your generous financial contribution will do to help an older adult in the community.

One of our Giving Tree partners is Subaru of Missoula. They participate each year in the Subaru of America Share the Love Event and display a lovely Giving Tree in their showroom. During the Share the Love event, you can purchase or lease any new Subaru between November 15 and January 2, and designate Meals on Wheels America as the recipient of $250 from Subaru, at no cost to you.

Put a little love in your heart and find a Giving Tree at any one of these fine locations:

• Subaru of Missoula, 1600 Stephens Avenue

• Orange Street Food Farm, 701 South Orange Street

• Missoula Aging Services, 337 Stephens Avenue

• The Missoulian, 500 South Higgins Avenue
