Gas prices for Montana have been falling slightly for the past week according to industry analysts.

Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan with Gas Buddy dot com said on Monday that Montanans have seen a break in gas prices.

"There's been a little bit of a break in gas prices over the past week," said DeHaan. "Looking at the statewide average in prices of $2.93.4, which is down a whopping four tenths of one percent in the last week. The national average over the last week fell close to six cents."

What DeHaan said Montanans can look back fondly on last year's gas prices.

"We are paying a lot more at the pumps this year than we were a year ago," he said. "Prices have increased about 60 cents a gallon this year. Prices a year ago were at about $2.34, while today we're looking at more like $2.94 per gallon."
