The nights were mostly clear in the Bitterroot Valley for viewing the March full moon early this week. The Worm Moon is named for when worms begin to be seen in the thawing grounds. However, the March full moon has other names in other locations - Sap Moon (for when the tree sap begins to flow), Storm Moon (for spring weather), Crow Moon and even Chaste Moon. By the way, this year we will have a Blue Moon (the second full moon in a month), and that's October 31. Since the time between full moons is 29 days, the blue moon happens about every two and half years.
