Four Beloved Montana Events Cancelled for 2017
What the heck is going on around here? Why is everything getting cancelled? I know it can't be a lack of popularity, these events are very well attended and people really look forward to going each year. Sadly, here are four Montana events being cancelled, or postponed, in 2017.
UM International Culture & Food Festival - postponed until spring 2018 due to administration changes. Apparently, there were some staff changes that did not leave organizers enough time to arrange for this year's event. Which is sad, my family really looks forward to this annual event.
Big Sky High School Science Circus - postponed until spring 2018 due to lack of organization. The Big Sky High School Science Department feels they are unprepared to offer the incredible event we've come to expect this year, so they have chosen to postpone the 11th annual event until 2018. Another great, local event that my family has attended for the past decade.
Moods of the Madison Festival - cancelled, unsure if it will return in 2018. This was a 2 day music festival held in beautiful Ennis, Montana that would typically get some big name artists. For instance, last year we saw Young The Giant and Bassnectar at the festival. Had some GREAT food too, Bozeman really knows how to present a food truck.
DAT Music Conference - "on hiatus" due to lack of venues. This was an annual Missoula gathering that would bring electronic music and visual artists together for performances, exhibitions and workshops. I know that founders Tara Emery and Logan Foret were incredibly sad to call it quits for 2017.
