Find Your Way out of a Montana Bat Biologist’s Escape Room
If you're looking for a Halloween adventure where the bats might be watching from mysterious nearby caves, then here is the "escape" for you.
While it would probably be even cooler if it were an Escape Cavern, that wouldn't be practical. So, the next best thing is Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park's original escape room event on Saturday, October 23.
Here is the premise submitted by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks: Dr. Townsend, a bat biologist, has gone missing in a nefarious plot (am I the only one who had to look up "nefarious?"). To avoid the same fate and escape in time, you’ll have to search his cabin for clues and find his hidden research notes. Participants will have 40 minutes to follow the trail of clues and unlock the door.
When you’ve successfully found your way out with research in hand, you can enjoy your newfound freedom and celebrate with a tasty s’more or two. All ingredients and materials will be provided except for chairs, which escapees are encouraged to bring.
Time slots start at 5:00 p.m. on October 23 and go until 10:00 p.m. Participants meet at the main (lower) visitor center. The park has done a good job making it affordable family fun. Tickets are only $5 each. To get tickets and book your time slot, email Emily.Dickerson@MT.gov or call the park at 406-287-3541. Each time slot may have up to six participants.
Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park is about 15 miles southeast of Whitehall, along Montana Highway 2.
