Fall Colors Begin to Appear in Bitterroot Valley

The smoke has cleared, fresh snow is capping the Bitterroot Mountains, and the first official day of autumn was a couple days ago. It's time for some trees to get into the act.

Those "in the know" in the Hamilton area always start looking at the Daly Mansion tree-lined lane for some of the first color changes of the fall. And, look! Little patches of color have already popped out.

The season should come along in fine fashion as the environment recovers from weeks and weeks of terrible smoky conditions from wildfires.
