Enjoy Cocktails Under the Sun at the 2nd to Last Caras Park Event of the Season
This is pretty much it for events at Caras Park, summer is coming to a close and Out To Lunch and Downtown Tonight have already wrapped for the year. Caras will host two final events, this weekend's Montana Distillers Festival and a Climate & Clean Energy Expo later this month.
Taste some yummy drinks and learn more about Montana-made spirits at the 2nd Annual Montana Distillers Guild Distillers Festival this Sunday, September 12th! The public is welcome from 3:30-6:00 p.m. at Caras (2:30 start for VIP). “The Montana Distillers Guild was formed in the Fall of 2014 by a group of small-batch distillers and their supporters, dedicated to promoting this fast-growing industry representing a perfect triangle of manufacturing, agriculture and tourism.” And you’ve probably noticed it has grown by leaps and bounds since!
Montana distilleries use a diverse majority of Montana ag product in their process from traditional wheat, rye and barley to Flathead cherries and home-grown potatoes and locally-harvested apples. The Festival will showcase 14 distilleries from around Montana: Lolo Creek Distillery (Lolo, MT) Glacier Distilling Company (Coram, MT) Dry Hills Distillery (Four Corners, MT) Whistling Andy Distilling (Bigfork, MT) Spotted Bear Spirits (Whitefish, MT) Bozeman Spirits Distillery (Bozeman, MT) Wild Rye Distillery (Bozeman, MT) Headframe Spirits (Butte, MT) Montgomery Distillery (Missoula, MT) Willie's Distillery, Inc. (Ennis, MT) Gulch Distillers (Helena, MT) Westslope Distillery (Hamilton, MT) Undammed Distilling Co. (Billings, MT) Portal Spirits (Kalispell, MT)
Tickets are $35 to enjoy samples of craft cocktails and spirits starting at 3:30 p.m. with 8 drink tickets and a commemorative glass. VIP Tickets cost $50 and include early admission, unlimited drink tickets, commemorative glassware and a Montana Whiskey 101 class. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door, you’re probably better off getting them online in advance. Sunday's forecast is partly cloudy and 75 degrees, pretty perfect for a Sunday of cocktails in downtown Missoula!
Guild Vice President Lauren Oscilowski of Spotted Bear Spirits adds, “14 distilleries from around the state in one location offers a unique experience for folks to sample the diverse range of spirits being made in Montana. We hope to see you there!”
