You can see this happen every day, if you know where to look.

The Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge has a busy airport on its ponds northeast of Stevensville.

One of the larger "aircraft" is the Great Blue Heron, many of whom are nesting in the tops of trees at the refuge. Mike Daniels caught some moments in time during an approach and landing last week.

Visit the refuge any day of the week. KLYQ 1240 AM Radio has a weekly Metcalf Wildlife Journal with Bob Danley every Thursday morning at about 7:45.
