Blink-182 celebrated Halloween in style last week (Oct. 26) when the group covered the Misfits' morbid "Skulls" while dressed as actor Joaquin Phoenix's Joker for the spooky holiday during KROQ's 2019 Halloween Costume Ball.

It was the opening song of an encore that preceded the act's hits "All the Small Things" and "Dammit," and the band members donned festive face paint when they tore through the Misfits classic from 1982's Walk Among Us. To that end, however, Blink singer and bassist Mark Hoppus can't remember if his group has performed on Halloween before. Watch fan-captured footage of the pop-punkers' costumed Misfits cover down toward the bottom of this post.

"I don't know that we've played on Halloween," Hoppus told KROQ ahead of the gig (via AXS). "I'm sure we have played on Halloween, but we must not have done anything rad because none of us remember anything cool about it. Most of the time, I think we were home because we normally tour during the summers and during the spring."

The L.A. rock station's annual Costume Ball also featured a costume contest with a cash prize. Over the air, Hoppus joked that he would appear in costume as "Post-It Malone" as part of the competition.

The recently reunited, original Misfits have been performing "Skulls" during their own concerts sets of late. The tune was included among the setlist when the outfit lit up Madison Square Garden earlier this month. Perhaps there'll be another chance to see the song performed by its composers when the Misfits descend on Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Arena later this year.
