The Hamilton Speech, Debate and Drama tournament is this weekend, December 15 and 16, with students from AA, A, B and C schools coming to town. There will be hundreds of participants.

Hamilton speech and debate coach Dee Hallock said that requires quite a few volunteers from the community to judge the rounds. She estimated 550 judging hours need to be covered, which is about 50 volunteers per round. Volunteers can judge one round or all the rounds Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.

The competition rounds are Friday at 4:15 p.m. , 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Saturday rounds are at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 noon and 2:30 p.m. The Speech and Debate events will be at Hamilton High School and the Drama events will be at the Hamilton Middle School.

Anyone wishing to judge should contact Dee at her email hallockd@hsd3.org or call Hamilton High School. Leave a message at the front desk (406) 375-6060 extension 0 or Hallock's extension 5111.

A quick training session is evailable for those who haven't judged before.
