The UM Planetarium will be having summertime afternoon shows at the Payne Family Native American Center Star Gazing Room on the UM Oval. The shows will last about an hour and are set for June, July and August, according to Mark Reiser, outreach coordinator of the UM Physics and Astronomy Department. The Missoula shows will have experts pointing out features of the night sky - from the Northern Lights to the Solar System's planets. There will be two shows each day, at 1 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. on June 21, June 28, July 12, July 26, August 2 and August 16.

Reiser said the shows are designed for ages 7 and up, and children must remain quiet during the presentations. Those attending should arrive ten minutes early to check into room 013 in the basement of the Native American center. Tickets go fast, he said, and with only 28 seats for each presentation, the shows often sell out. No tickets will be sold at the door! The prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. You can buy them online at the UM Physics Department website.
