On Saturday night, June 9, Missoula police were called out to a residence in the 4400 block of Martindale Way after neighbors called-in a report of what sounded like a loud argument between a man and a woman. According to police spokesman Travis Welsh, when police arrived, they found two men and arrests were made, not because of noise, but because of smells.

"As they went around the sides, officers encountered Jeffery Blake on one side of the house and the other officers encountered Brooks Blake at the back of the house," Welsh said. "Officers were speaking with the two men, they noticed a very strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the house."

Once inside, police found a lot of green.

"The men stated that they were marijuana patients, card holders," Welsh said. "However, during the course of the investigation, the officers discovered that they were actually growing more marijuana than they were legally allowed to have as patients and they were arrested."

Both men were jailed, but Brooks Blake was released. 61-year-old Jeffery Blake is still in jail, held on two felony charges: one for drug possession and manufacture and one for intent to distribute.
