Following the massive rainstorm earlier this month, Montana Highway 38 over Skalkaho Pass was closed.

Highway officials noticed soft shoulders on the mountain road with water crossing the road in places.

The narrow road is annually closed during the winter, but due to possible damage from vehicles the road was temporarily closed in the summer to let it dry out.

And it dried out.

The route between Hamilton and Philipsburg reopened recently, allowing you to visit the always refreshing Skalkaho Falls (see photo).
