As Hamilton experiences 95 percent totality during the total eclipse, Bitterroot College invites you to the Great Eclipse Caper.

Bitterroot College of the University of Montana hopes to see you on the front lawn of the college at 103 South Ninth Street in Hamilton, starting at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 21. Peak eclipse time is 11:31 a.m. An on-site expert with a doctorate in physics will be there to answer questions.

During the event, the college will have multiple telescopes, as well as eclipse glasses and other eclipse-viewing items. Informational brochures and eclipse activities for young and old alike will be part of the event, too. And be sure to come hungry as eclipse-themed food will be available to purchase (moon pies?/sundaes?).

The event is free and open to the public but registration is encouraged to reserve enough glasses for everyone. You can register here through the college's website, or contact Victoria Clark, Bitterroot College Director, 406-375-0100.

Here's to clear skies August 21!
