The Offspring recently announced details for the "Never Ending Summer" tour with 311 and Gym Class Heroes, but it now looks as though that run will serve as a pre-cursor to their next studio album release. The Offspring last released an album in 2012 and their last single came in 2015, so fans have been patiently waiting on new music and in a new interview, guitarist Noodles told WRIF's Meltdown that the band is now eyeing a fall release for their next disc.

"This record is taking us a long time, but I think it's gonna be well worth the wait. We've been in the studio working a lot recently with Bob [Rock] and finishing it up. We've got about 10 songs done, a couple of more that just need lyrics. And then we may do one or two more and it's gonna be a done deal," stated Noodles.

When pressed about when we might see the disc, the guitarist stated, "This fall. Definitely this year, hopefully fall. We were hoping for summer, but it looks like fall now."

The band teased the probability of new music in December of last year, with the band revealing in February that drums had already been tracked for a new album, while another photo of Noodles in the studio was posted in late March. And with Noodles' latest update, it appears as though the group is in the home stretch of a new album.

The Offspring will get the ball rolling on promotion this summer with their co-headline tour with 311. The trek launches July 25 in Mountain View, Calif. and concludes Sept. 9 in Wichita, Kan. Tickets go on sale today. See all of the stops here.
