Noel Gallagher fans still have to wait more than a month to hear Who Built the Moon?, the latest full-length effort from the Oasis co-founder's High Flying Birds. But in the meantime, the set's first single, "Holy Mountain," is online now.

As with the rest of the new LP, "Holy Mountain" was produced by Gallagher with veteran soundtrack composer David Holmes — and as Gallagher tells it in the press release announcing the single's release, the duo knew early on that they had something special with this song.

"It was one of the first things David and I did on the first week of working together. I knew instantly that it was going to be the first single. There’s so much joy in it," said Gallagher. "Until the day I die, it will be one of my favorite pieces of music that I’ve ever written. It sounds great live. My kids love it, my friends’ kids all love it, and I am sure ‘the kids’ will love it."

Available now on streaming services — and available for you to play via the above embed — "Holy Mountain" is also being issued as a 12" vinyl single with a pair of non-album b-sides: an instrumental version of the song as well as the Who Built the Moon? bonus track "Dead in the Water," a one-off performance capturing Gallagher and keyboardist Mike Rowe between takes during a radio recording. That edition of the single can be ordered through Gallagher's official online store.
