Following a postponed fourth show of his current tour, Morrissey has shared the third single to his upcoming 11th solo album Low in High School. The most distinctly Morrissey song title among the string of singles yet, "Jacky's Only Happy When She's Up on the Stage" follows previous Low in High School offerings, "Spent the Day in Bed" and "I Wish You Lonely."

The newly unveiled track will be released as a 7" single with a cover of Elvis Presley's "You'll Be Gone" as the b-side, a rendition the singer opened with on his tour's kickoff date in Portland. The classic Presley song has been occasionally featured in Morrissey's live sets since 2015.

Morrissey, a lifelong connoisseur of mid-century American pop culture, had previously put an Elvis Presley cover to tape on the Smiths' live album Rank, on which a shortened cover of "(Marie's the Name) His Latest Flame" was performed as a segue into the band's Meat Is Murder cut, "Rusholme Ruffians."

Audiences got their first preview of "Jacky's Only Happy When She's Up on the Stage" during a live performance on the BBC Radio 6 program 6 Music Live. Perhaps offering fans an idea of what new songs to expect of the tour's set lists, he performed the track accompanied by his previous two singles and in addition to other Low in High School cuts “When You Open Up Your Legs” and “Home Is a Question Mark."

Morrissey's concert this past Sunday at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, Calif., on Sunday was postponed due to a failing onstage heating system. However, he will resume his current tour on Friday with two consecutive dates at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Billy Idol will serve as the opening act.
