Yesterday was a day that really tested my patience, and I want to make sure you don't have to go through the same aggravation. It started having to visit the Department of Licensing downtown, obviously no one's favorite place to spend their day. Luckily it only took me about an hour, and I was on my way back to work. Although after spending hundreds of dollars and losing an hour I came back to my vehicle to find a parking ticket.

I had no idea what it was for because I still had more than 30 minutes available in my parking meter. I quickly found out that I received a ticket for parking on the white of the line in between two parking spots. I was not happy, to say the least. I decided to drive right over to the parking commission and handle the situation immediately.

When I arrived I was greeted by a very nice lady who looked up the ticket and told me I then have two options. Because I had never had an infraction downtown she could either reduce the ticket in half and I pay $10 or I could take time off work to have a court appearance to explain the situation to a judge. UGH! Again, for parking on a white line when there were plenty of vacant spots around me.

I ended up paying the $10 immediately to just be done with the aggravation. Although I did find it funny that the lady I was speaking with at the parking commission said that she even avoids downtown due to parking. At least she made me laugh before I returned to work. Long story short I got my yearly reminder yesterday why we all cringe when having to go downtown and deal with parking.
