Missing Child Case Is Still Being Investigated By Missoula County Attorney’s Office

The Missoula County Attorney’s Office was happy to report a low amount of crime this week. Deputy County Attorney Jason Marks explains.

“We filed ten new cases this week,” Marks said. “Four of those were drug charges, three involved methamphetamine and one involved heroin. There was a stolen car, felony DUI and a felony order of protection violation. I guess in the grand scheme of things, there was nothing particularly serious.”

Marks says his office is still investigating a parenting interference case that was reported last week. That particular case involved a parent taking a child out of state so that the other parent couldn’t have contact.

“That one is actually still under investigation,” Marks said. “He was on parole at the time of his arrest. He is being held on a parole violation while we do some further investigation into all those circumstances to decide what criminal charge might be appropriate.”

A Missing and Endangered Person Advisory was sent out in an effort to help locate the child in that case. Marks advocated that MEPA is an important resource when it comes to finding missing people.
