Missoula Police were called to a domestic dispute late Wednesday night. Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh has the details.

“At about 11:00 p.m. last night, officers were summoned to the 1700 block of Cooley Street for the report of a disturbance between a male and a female,” said Welsh. “It turns out the male and female were in a relationship. After a verbal argument, the male is reported to have struck the female and then threw her to the ground.”

Police say in this particular circumstance the woman in this incident is also facing partner family member assault charges because what police say she did after she broke away.

“The female retreated into the residence where she retrieved some kind of a knife and came out and attempted to slash or stab or otherwise injure the male,” Welsh said. “The male actually got the knife from the female and no injuries were a result of that incident. The officers determined that both individuals had committed crimes related to the disturbance and both were taken into custody.”

32-year-old Trenton Holmgren and 40-year-old Brandy Hull were both taken into custody. Hull was released this morning, March 23.
