Every year they try to outdo themselves, making up new creations each seemingly unhealthier then the last. What have the fair foodies come up with this year?

"The Fat Elvis Shake" in Wisconsin at the fair, is banana ice cream, a fried peanut butter cup and BACON bits! I hear cricket nachos are also on the menu for the cheese-heads.

Food and Wine did a whole article on wacky fair foods, and it's no surprise that Montana makes the list with their "Fried Butter Balls" at the Great Falls State Fair. They're just what they sound like: fried balls of butter. Hmmmmmmm butter.

Kansas has a Pickle Pop... yup a pickle popsicle.

This one got me good... Python Kebabs, do I need to explain? It's in Sacramento at their Fair in California.

Plus at all fairs there is a ton of fried concoctions. Twinkies, Oreos, butter, jelly beans, deep fried eggs on a stick. Oklahoma does "Deep-Fried Mashed Potatoes on a Stick". If it's deep fried on a stick it's probably pretty good.

Texas has some interesting things too:

  • Deep-fried chicken noodle soup on a stick
  • Oreo beer
  • Pinot Noir popcorn (yes wine popcorn is real)
  • FOOD BONUS
