The largest pool at Jerry Johnson Hot Springs is reported to be in good condition, just over Lolo Pass in Idaho.

However, the lower pools are filled with sediment from high water, according to Christine Bradbury of the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forests.

She said that staff from the Lochsa-Powell Ranger District examined the area and confirmed earlier reports about the lower pools being filled with mud and rocks. They are urging visitors to NOT dig out the pools.

The area will be examined again after high water recedes, probably in May.
