People were psyched for the new Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly movie, until they weren't.

You'd think anything released with the greatest comedy duo of our time would have them laughing all the way to the box office. Not so much with Holmes & Watson. The Sherlock Holmes based movie has an 8% on Rotten Tomatoes (EIGHT percent, ouch!) and a 3.4 out of 10 on IMDb. Honestly, I'm surprised it's been in theaters this long.

Being fans of a lot of 1 star movies, Dave and I figured people were just being overly dramatic about their disappointment, which we were partly right about. We had planned on going, but when we saw the line "its script is replete with masturbation jokes, a lengthy vomit scene and a bizarrely sensual chess match" in one review, we knew we had to see it that night.

And it wasn't hardly as bad as people are making it out to be. I mean, it's not a great movie, and is no where near the awesome level of Step Brothers and Talladega Nights, but I didn't want to walk out, which many people reported doing. We decided that the main downfall was the PG-13 rating, if this flick had gone with an R rating, the jokes could have lived up to their potential. Oh, and as a big time supporter of extended vomit scenes, theirs was only 10% as funny as it could have been.

Bottom line: wait to watch it on Netflix or HBO. But definitely give it a chance at some point, it's certainly not complete trash like Everything Must Go, now THAT movie sucked ass.
