The University of Montana is recruiting volunteers to help paint the M on Mount Sentinel as part of Homecoming week.

The UM Alumni Association and the Civic Engagement office are inviting volunteers to meet this Wednesday afternoon, October 3, at the M trailhead starting at 4:00 p.m., to give the M a fresh coat of paint. Volunteers should come "dressed to get dirty." I know, it sounds great already, right?

Volunteers must be 18 or older. All painting supplies will be provided and the paint for the project has been graciously donated by Rodda Paint. While it's volunteer work, those helping will be rewarded with hot dogs AND Big Dipper ice cream when the job is done.

The estimate on the job is about two and a half hours so you can get down before dark. You are asked to RSVP with the UM Alumni office here. You can also call Colleen Kane, UM Civic Engagement Associate Director, 406-243-5182. Or email colleen.kane@mso.umt.edu for more information.

Full disclosure: Wednesday's weather calls for some rain and a high of only 55. But it's Big Dipper Ice cream, so who cares what the weather is like!

Thanks for giving it some thoughts, UM friends.
