Halsey's being criticized for her performance during Tuesday's The Voice finale, and she's thrilled.

The musician hit back at homophobic haters who bashed her for pulling off a sensual performance of "Without Me" alongside actress and dancer Jade Chynoweth. During the routine, the two took the stage wearing cropped tops with high-waisted shorts for a few choreographed embraces and more.

"Very proud of the emotional performance i did with @JadeChynoweth on @NBCTheVoice tonight," the 24-year-old tweeted. "And also very proud to have pissed off [the] homophobic viewers at home who missed the message."

Halsey continued, "Representation matters. Thanks @NBCTheVoice for giving a space for this vision to come to life. and thank you @JadeChynoweth for being an incredible human who used her body like the ultimate instrument for this collaboration."

Despite her remarks, it seems not all the backlash was rooted in homophobia. Some fans felt the display of domestic violence "and vulgarity" was inappropriate based on audience demographics.

"This had nothing to do with homophobia," one user responded. "I am homosexual and I was sickened by the demonstration of domestic violence and vulgarity. Not appropriate for a show featuring and watched by teens."

Another wrote, "There's a time and place for everything. Wrong forum."

"Not homophobic, but I believe erotic performances don't belong on prime time television," another said. "Hetero or Homosexual."

Still, Halsey's loyal fans praised her performance as her "best performance of all time." One added, "It wasn't inappropriate at all. It was beautiful."

"I absolutely Loved your performance. it even gave me chills, just ignore all the haters, you're [SIC] performance was Breathtaking," one fan said.
