Many summertime activities in the Bitterroot Valley are outdoors. The Hamilton Downtown Association is presenting the theme "Outdoor Recreation" Friday evening.

The Hamilton Tonight activities happen on the second Friday of each month, when the participating businesses stay open until 8 p.m.

This Friday, June 9, the second block of Hamilton's Main Street will be blocked off. Inside that barricade will be a bounce house for the kids, an archery course, a fun bungee run and beverages.

You'll be able to meet some sled dogs and the friendly bull from Darby, "Darbacious." Representatives from outdoors organizations will be on hand to talk about their activities.

Michael Hoyt, author and photographer, will be talking about Bitterroot trails at Chapter One Book Store. And, of course, participating stores will have "Hamilton Tonight" specials.

Also, Friday evening is the "Culture Crawl," with six studios and galleries presenting their artistic specialties. The monthly free self-guided tour will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Included will be The Gallery at Clay Works, Art City, Montana Bliss Artworks, The O'Hara Commons, Art Focus and the Mineshaft Pasty Co.
