If you love piano music, we highly recommend an awesome show put on annually by the University of Montana School of Music.

The 11th annual Pianissimo! concerts are this Friday and Saturday, October 12 and 13, 7:30 p.m., in the Music Recital Hall on the UM campus. This year, all the big multiple piano pieces are new, with this year's theme being Pianissimo! Goes to the Orchestra. Selections are based on orchestral literature and will feature various combinations of instruments and players.

Among the 25 performers are some of Missoula's best-known and distinguished pianists, both UM faculty and community members, along with current and former students. I have had the pleasure of seeing several performances over the years and have always thoroughly enjoyed them.

Tickets are $25 general public, $20 for those age 60 and over and $10 for any students with school ID. You can get tickets at the UMArts Box Office, University of Montana Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center, online at griztix.com in the UM School of Music section, or call 406-243-4581.

Here's hoping you love it as much as we do!
