The Daly Mansion lawn has provided the stage for a unique annual fundraiser for the Bitterroot Community Band. It's happening again Thursday, July 27.

Some call it the kickoff to Daly Days weekend in Hamilton. Others simply enjoy the added feature of strawberry shortcake desserts sold to the audience at intermission. And, of course, there's the eclectic mix of music of the band. It's their "greatest hits" of the summer.

There is an admission charge of $5 as you enter the Mansion grounds, beginning at about 6:30 p.m. The music starts at 7 p.m. and the concert lasts a couple of hours, including the shortcake intermission.

Money raised during the evening helps pay for sheet music and travel expenses for the volunteer orchestra. The band will be performing at Stevensville's Creamery Picnic in August and the Ravalli County Fair in Hamilton in September. Every other Thursday during the summer, you can hear them at the bandshell in Claudia Driscoll Park in Hamilton.

The Daly Mansion is located northeast of Hamilton on the East Side Highway.
