AWOLNATION Spotlight Disabled Skater in ‘Passion’ Video

There are plenty of things you can do with a music video, so might as well make it compelling. AWOLNATION have achieved that with their new video for “Passion,” turning the camera on a subject who defines the song’s title.

The clip was directed by Ravi Dhar and centers on disabled skater Og De Souza, following him as leaves his home, getting about with his legs crossed and traveling via skateboard. After taking a bus to the beach in Recife, Brazil, De Souza heads over to the skatepark where he’s ready to enjoy the passion of skateboarding along with his fellow skaters.

AWOLNATION leader Aaron Bruno says, “Og has a such an amazing passion for life, positivity and, of course, skating. It’s an inspiration to me and what he does is a great example of how to overcome obstacles in life through your passion. I know music has saved my life on more than one occasion. It’s an honor for us that he wanted to be a part of this video and share some of his life together.”

Just last month, AWOLNATION also released a lyric video for the track, which can be seen here. “Passion” is the lead single off the band’s new album, Here Come the Runts, which is due Feb. 2. You can pre-order the album via the band’s website, and you’ll also find the dates for their first major tour of 2018, which kicks off Feb. 11 in Toronto.
